EIU Homecoming 2024: Little Prince and Princess Candidate Application

Applications and photos must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16.

Dates & Deadlines:
● Sept. 16: Nomination forms due
● Sept. 30: Mandatory Coronation walkthrough

Rules & Regulations:
● Little Prince & Princess contestants must be between the ages of 4-8 by Sept. 16, 2024 and must be current residents of Coles County.
● One recent headshot photo of the contestant must accompany the completed application. This can be any size, but not larger than 8.5" x 11", either color or black and white is acceptable.
● Nominations, video essays and headshot photos must be submitted by Sept. 16, 2024.
● To Submit a video, please make a 2-3-minute video and post it to YouTube as a private video. The following explains how to upload to YouTube and make it private.
● Go to youtube.com and sign in with a google account.
Click the "create" camera logo in the upper right-hand corner and click on "upload video".
● Click on "upload video". Must be in a .MOV Or .MP4 format to upload properly.
● Click "select files" and select the file from your device.
● Click "edit" and make the title "[Your Name] EIU Homecoming [Little Prince/Princess] 2024 Candidate"
Change the setting for the video from "Public" to "Private"
● When the video is finished uploading, copy the URL and paste it into the application where designated to submit the video as part of the application.
● This is a fun contest, NOT a beauty pageant; contestants will be voted on by members of the EIU Student Body.
● Past winners of the EIU Homecoming Little Prince & Princess competition are NOT eligible to compete.
● The contestant must be a child or sibling related to a currently enrolled EIU student or EIU employee.
● The 2024 EIU Homecoming Little Prince & Princess crowning will take place at the Coronation Event scheduled to take place at 7 p.m., Monday, September 30, in the Grand Ballroom of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.
● Winners will each receive participation awards/prizes to be presented during the Coronation event.
● The 2024 EIU Homecoming Little Prince & Princess Winners will be required to participate in Coronation and Parade events.
● The Coronation walkthrough will be 4-5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30.

Judging:
● Lil Prince and Princess Candidate applications will be voted upon by the Eastern Illinois University Student Body.

Coronation Information

The 2024 EIU Homecoming Lil’ Prince & Princess crowning will take place, Monday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. Winners will each receive a tiara/medal, plaque, and gift bag.

The 2024 EIU Homecoming Little Prince & Princess Winners will be required to participate in the Homecoming Coronation Ceremony (September 30) and Homecoming Parade (October 5).

Waiver I hereby acknowledge that the personal data as shown on the application form is correct; and that I have read and understand the EIU HC Little Prince & Princess Contest General Rules. I hereby grant permission to the 2024 EIU Homecoming Committee to use my child’s photographs for publicity/promotional purposes in any and all EIU Homecoming media.
