The purpose of the EIU Fraternity and Sorority Programs Excellence Awards is to recognize chapter and members for their dedication, success and improvements within the EIU fraternity and sorority community. The goals of award program are to support and incorporate the ideals and goals of the overall community: scholarship, personal development, leadership, service, growth, and chapter management.
All individuals and chapters can be nominated by themselves or by other members of the fraternity/sorority community, advisors, faculty, staff, and alumni. Please check the individual criteria of the award for further information on nominations.
An award review committee of faculty, staff, graduate assistant staff and a select group of your peers may review applications and awards will be announced at the 2017 Fraternity and Sorority Excellence Awards Celebration on Sunday, April 9, 2017. The awards are divided into three groups: Individual Awards, Chapter Excellence, and Individual Scholarship Awards. Chapters will compete against other chapters within their councils.
All applications for the Fraternity & Sorority awards ceremony can be found online this year. Anyone may submit an entry. If you have any questions, please contact Nathan Wehr.

The Greek community at EIU offers three honorary organizations, based solely on academic and leadership qualities. All of them have a national organization. They also participate in community service events throughout the year. The organizations are listed below.
Order of Omega is a Greek honorary organization that believes in high scholarship, leadership skills, and community involvement. These attributes make an individual perfectly suited for initiation into Order of Omega. This honorary organization is a nationally recognized organization.
The Fraternal Scholars program is to recognize fraternity & sorority members who have a 3.5 cumulative or semester GPA, and Junior or Senior class standing. There is no application for this honor, all qualifying members are recognized.
