Friday, Dec. 12
  • Chat with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Get personalized financial aid information.
  • Hear from campus leaders and enter for a chance to receive one of five $2,000 scholarships!
  • Explore your major by meeting faculty and diving into your chosen program.
  • Attend breakout sessions and the admitted student meet-up to learn next steps and connect with future classmates.
  • Have lunch on us and discover campus resources and student life.

Fridays: March 13 & 27 | April 3, 10, 17 & 24
  • Create a visit experience that fits what you want to explore.
  • Get information from admissions, housing and dining, and financial aid staff.
  • Take advantage of optional one-on-one time with financial aid or admissions counselors.
  • Choose a personalized housing tour, campus tour, or both. It’s up to you!

Enrollment Deposit

  • Submitting your enrollment deposit gets you one step closer to officially becoming part of Panther Nation!

  • With a completed enrollment deposit, you'll have the opportunity to register for an orientation session as soon as dates become available. This is your best bet for getting a great Fall schedule!

  • Excited about landing the perfect room? Complete your housing application in order to make your residence hall, room type, and roommate selections as soon as they're available.

  • Visit our deposit page to hear from EIU students about EIU being the Right Fit, the Campus Community, how EIU is Beyond the classroom, and how EIU sets you up for success.

Housing and Dining

You found your college. Now find your home. Here's how to sign up:

  • You can complete your Housing Application in MyEIU and pay the $50 fee as soon as you’re admitted to EIU. Room assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on availability.

  • In March, complete your room and board contract and share your preferences for hall, room type, meal plan, and more.

  • By the end of May, you’ll receive your room assignment and have a chance to connect with your roommate before move-in.

  • Don’t forget to submit your $100 housing down payment by June 12.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Our Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is here to help you make sense of the dollars and cents. Follow these steps to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):

  • File your FAFSA online at studentaid.gov as soon as possible. The earlier we receive your FAFSA, the sooner we can prepare your financial aid package. Be sure to include Eastern’s FAFSA code: 001674.

  • Already filed your FAFSA but forgot to send it to EIU? Follow the instructions here to make sure we receive it.

  • You’ll get a notification once your aid package is ready, but you can also check the status anytime through MyEIU.

  • Once you've reviewed your award, you can use PAWS to accept / reject your financial aid award offers.

  • In the meantime, check out Academic Works! Some scholarships and grants are automatically offered, but many more are available through our Academic Works scholarship search. As an admitted student, you can complete the general application and start getting matched with additional scholarships.

Orientation and Transition

You’re almost here! The Office of New Student and Family Programs is here to make sure that you make a smooth transition from your high school or previous institution to Eastern Illinois University! Below is what to expect from the orientation and transition process.

Part 1: Orientation, Advisement, and Registration

  • After you pay your enrollment deposit, you can sign up for summer orientation. Registration will open in the spring in MyEIU, and the sooner you sign up, the more dates you’ll have to choose from!

  • Orientation is your chance to meet your academic advisor, plan your classes, connect with future Panthers, and check out all the resources and opportunities EIU offers for you and your family.

Part 2: Getting Settled

Once you move in, your EIU experience kicks off! Our new student programs help you:

  • Explore the academic and social opportunities around campus.

  • Meet and connect with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Build your foundation in areas like academics, wellness, traditions, and personal growth.
