Before and After Camp Site Director

Requirements:

The Woodridge Park District recreation department has as opening for a Before & After Camp Site Director in our summer camp program. Camp meets for ten weeks Mondays through Fridays during the months of June through August. Hours worked will be approximately 7:00-9:00am and 4:30-6:00pm and mandatory training sessions which may be on nights or weekends beginning in late May. The Before & After Camp Site Director reports to the Camp Director and has the primary function of overseeing the daily operation of Before & After Camp. QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent • Bachelor degree in education, recreation, or related field preferred. • Two years of previous day camp experience or a similar program preferred. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work well with program participants, parents, and fellow staff members. • Must be certified in First Aid, Adult CPR and Infant/Child CPR or be able to obtain certification prior to the camp start date. • Valid Illinois Driver’s license is required. • Ability to swim at an intermediate level of skill. RESPONSIBILITY: Site Director responsibilities include but are not limited to: pre-camp planning and programming; training of camp staff; providing support/leadership for staff and participants; develop, review, and present weekly lesson plans and camper incentive programs; be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of all campers and staff at all times; supervise the daily transition between Before & After Camp and Day Camp; inform parents of upcoming activities, child behavior, injuries that occurred during camp hours; lead and participate in activities; and attend all training and weekly staff meetings. . ATTRIBUTES: We are seeking dedicated and energetic individuals who like working with children. The position requires standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and seeing; flexibility of work schedule which may include days, nights, and weekends; is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions which may include varying weather conditions, and is subject to chlorinated water.

The Camp Counselor’s primary function is the direct supervision and safety of program participants, and the planning/implementation of age-appropriate activities. Material Handler 1 - Tracking Code 3089-303 LCS Communications (formally RR Donnelley) plant in Mattoon offers flexible schedules for its part time employees.   Employees may choose to work 4, 8 or 12 hour shifts. Employees can choose which days of the week and hours of the shift (first four hours/last four hours) they prefer to work.  Remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process products from discharge unit of printing press or adhesives coating equipment.  Review signatures for smearing, register issues, bad folds, etc. and notify the Pressroom.  Remove folded signatures from web press and place signatures on pallet or skid for removal to warehouse or binding areas.  May adjust stacking mechanism on press according to paper dimensions.  Loads and unloads material onto or from pallets, cart and trays. Conveys materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.   Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Stacks or assembles material into bundles and band bundles together, using banding machine and clincher.  May occasionally operate automated equipment and/or industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.  Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes.  Able to stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, count and rotate items on/off printing press equipment in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a press operator, bindery line operator or supervisor.  May require knowledge of operation of automatic counters and tabulate counts for jobs.  Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.  Basic skill in the use of manual dollies, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as hammers, pliers, strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment.
