His teaching and research interests span various fields within Rhetoric/Composition: basic writing, argumentation, writing program administration, composition theory and pedagogy, classical rhetoric, professional writing, writing center theory and practice, civic engagement, and writing across the curriculum.
His work has appeared in WPA: Writing Program Administration, Praxis: A Writing Center Journal, Teaching English in the Two-Year College, College English, Composition Forum, the Journal of Social Studies Research, Social Studies Research and Practice, and the Journal of Social Studies and History Education. He is the co-author of IDEAS & Aims for College Writing with Linda Copeland.
He has presented research at an array of local, regional, and national conferences.
