January 24, 7:00 p.m. Reading by Jami Attenberg is FREE and open to the public 

January 25 Workshop and Events are $40 for the general public, which includes continental breakfast and lunch; Students from any university FREE to workshops and events, $10 for lunch

Lions In Winter 2014 kicks off at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, in the Doudna Fine Arts Center Lecture Hall, with a reading by Jami Attenberg, the acclaimed author of four books, including her latest New York Times bestselling novel, The Middlesteins.

Events planned for Saturday January 25, include intensive genre workshops led by EIU creative writing faculty; writing seminars led by Jami Attenberg, Jason Koo, Alissa Nutting and Ryan Van Meter; an editor's panel with editors from The Missouri Review, Ninth Letter, 32 Poems, PANK and Bluestem; and an evening reading by Jason Koo, Alissa Nutting, and Ryan Van Meter. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served Saturday.

Lions in Winter is an annual reading series for new and emerging writers, sponsored by the Department of English and the College of Arts and Humanities. This is a Doudna Fine Arts Center New and Emerging Artists Series program.
