How to Edit the Course Start and End Dates

Written Tutorial Video Simulation (1:42)

Course dates imageThe course start and end dates are displayed at different times over the course image in the My Courses widget.  The sample image on the right shows a Fall 2018 course that "Opens On" August 20, 2018 and a Spring 2017 course that "Closed" on May 5, 2017.  The dates displayed are generated from the course listing in Banner. In some instances, the actual course start and end dates are different from the dates displayed in the My Courses widget. The instructor of the course now has the ability to edit the course start and end dates and times.

  • The course start and end dates are information only (based on the EIU configuration of D2L) and have no bearing on a course being active or inactive.
  • At EIU, the instructor needs to manually make the course active to grant students access to the course.
  • If a course is inactive, it will not appear on the student's course list in D2L.
