Since the death by positional asphyxia of her unarmed son, Lesley, in 2004, Dr. Prater has conducted research on the incidence of unarmed individuals dying while in custody of law officers.   Her family’s story and her collection of quantitative as well as qualitative data offers insight and specific support.

 

 

 

“MoneySmarts:  Recognizing Teachable Moments during the Early Years”

Parents are the primary influence  on their children in developing saving and spending habits.  Educating young consumers on money management is a valuable skill set that will be utilized at every stage of life. This session will provide strategies to recognize teachable moments related to saving and spending and how these moments can have a significant impact on their future.
