Enjoy a photographic journey on Wednesday (followed by an on-site guided walk on Thursday), of Coles County’s newest natural area. Join photographer and GPF Board Member, Fred Delcomyn, as he uses his photography to highlight the unique land forms, plants and animals of Warbler Ridge. Warbler Ridge Conservation area, located between Lake Charleston and Fox Ridge State Park, began when a private non-profit conservation organization, Grand Prairie Friends (GPF), purchased a 141-acre site in 2012. Seven years later, the site has grown to 1,000 acres and now includes nine acres of restored wetland, thousands of new trees and ten miles of trails for the public to enjoy along the meandering Embarras River.
