Speaker: EIU alum Josh Hawkins
Time and Location: 4pm Old Main 2231
Abstract: Mr. Hawkins will describe vulnerabilities and how
they occur, how attackers take advantage of vulnerabilities, secure coding, and
handling user input and exceptions. The presentation will include several specific
demonstrations of attacks and countermeasures.

Josh Hawkins is a 2012 EIU graduate with Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and
in Mathematics and Computer Science. He is currently working at a Fortune 500
financial organization as part of the Adversary Simulation team. He and his team are
responsible for simulating cyber attacks against his organization’s network to help
identify security gaps before they can be exploited by malicious hackers.
