Luisa A. Igloria is the winner of the 2015 Resurgence Prize (UK), the world's first major award for ecopoetry. She is the author of the chapbooks Haori (Tea & Tattered Pages Press, 2017), Check & Balance (Moria Press/Locofo Chaps, 2017), and Bright as Mirrors Left in the Grass (Kudzu House Press eChapbook selection for Spring 2015). Other publications include the full-length works Ode to the Heart Smaller than a Pencil Eraser (Utah State University Press, winner of the 2014 May Swenson Prize), Night Willow (Phoenicia Publishing, 2014), The Saints of Streets (University of Santo Tomas Publishing House, 2013), Juan Luna’s Revolver (University of Notre Dame Press, 2009 Ernest Sandeen Prize), and nine other books.
A Professor of English, Luisa Igloria teaches on the faculty of the MFA Creative Writing Program at Old Dominion University, which she directed from 2009-2015. EIU Student Research and Creative Activity Conference – Friday March 23, 2018
Eastern Illinois University invites all students doing independent research, scholarship, or creative activity in any discipline to share their work at the Student Research and Creative Activity Conference. There will be diverse opportunities for sharing through posters, short presentations, panels, round-tables, performances, and displays of artwork. Students will have the opportunity to hone their skills as presenters and to talk about their work with fellow students, faculty, and staff from across the university. Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to participate.
