EIU Student Research and Creative Activity Conference – Friday March 23, 2018
Eastern Illinois University invites all students doing independent research, scholarship, or creative activity in any discipline to share their work at the Student Research and Creative Activity Conference. There will be diverse opportunities for sharing through posters, short presentations, panels, round-tables, performances, and displays of artwork. Students will have the opportunity to hone their skills as presenters and to talk about their work with fellow students, faculty, and staff from across the university. Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to participate.

Fall and the deadline for applications for the EIU Student Impact Grants for Faculty Mentors are just around the corner (hint: applications for the latter are due 1 October). Please join us for a brief, practical discussion of what works best and what doesn't in the short-term and medium-term for preparing proposals and applications. Co-sponsored with Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Dr. Robert Chesnut, Director of that office and several faculty who have successfully obtained funding offer suggestions for obtaining internal and external outside funding for faculty activity. The panel includes recent awardees of Student Impact Grants such as John Bickford, Early Childhood, Elementary & Middle Level Education; Thomas Canam, Biological Sciences; Margaret Floress, Psychology; Edward Treadwell, Chemistry. Making Excellence Inclusive Conference |
The theme of the conference is Reaching Inclusivity for Student Excellence (RISE). It is a conference for faculty, staff, administrators and graduate students. Keynote speaker is Dr. Denice Hood. Breakout sessions designed to share information and strategies to make excellence inclusive to all students at EIU.
