Where We Stand: Privilege in the Classroom

Please join us on Friday, Oct. 4, from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom for a Let's Talk Teaching session, ''Where We Stand': Privilege in the Classroom,' presented by Dr. Jeannie Ludlow, English & Women's Studies. Culture critic bell hooks writes that, in order '[t]o work for change, we need to know where we stand' (*Where We Stand: Class Matters* 8-9). This workshop asks participants to consider both where we stand and where we have come from and to explore how the life experiences of everyone in the room influence the teaching and learning environment in our classes.
