Academy of Lifetime Learning Community Reception

Eastern Illinois University’s Academy of Lifetime Learning and Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Services are hosting a community reception open to all community members over the age of 50. The event will take place Friday, November 16 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. in Doudna Fine Arts Center Gallery Hall prior to the evening’s performance of STORMY WEATHER: The Lena Horne Project.
The Lena Horne Project stars Mary Wilson of the Supremes, which tells the story of Hollywood’s first African-American goddess. The living, breathing biography features rare audio clips, video footage, true stories and thrilling performances from Horne. Although this is a member’s only social event, you can register to become a member of the Academy and reserve your performance tickets.
The event will feature Hors d’Ouvres and drinks, as well as changes to receive discounts on tickets to the show, chances to win VIP, as well as discounted Academy of Lifetime Learning memberships. Register to attend the free event by October 22 through the Academy to be eligible to win those prizes.
Admission to the reception is free, but registering for the reception does not include admission to the performance.
