Voices in Progress Present: Open Mic |
Since the pandemic, many of us have experienced a disconnection between ourselves and society. Quarantining has allowed us to connect with ourselves and discover qualities we never knew existed. We all have similar experiences, but yet we all feel as if we're alone. Voices in Progress would like to open an opportunity for us to share these experiences and emotions through an open mic. We want to open up the stage and allow you the chance to not only express your voice and untold story, but receive the chance to hear others' stories as well. Whether it's a poem, rap, song, or dance everyone is welcome to come on the stage and share their story. Through a socially distant event, we will ensure your safety while we gather to create a safe space for you to come to express yourself. So if you're tired of being isolated or just simply want to have the opportunity to express yourself, then please join us and allow us the opportunity to help you feel connected again. Remember, we are in this together.Tags: Arts and Entertainment | Current Students | English Department | RSO Event

Submissions will be accepted through Friday, April 2, at 4 p.m. Voting will open at noon on Monday, April 5, and close at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 8. Winners will be announced on Friday, April 9.
