The (BVC) Bullying Prevention Project Conference 2014

Dr. Allen Beane We are pleased to announce the Bridging Voices in Our Community Bullying Prevention Project will host its 4th Annual Bullying Conference on Friday, October 17, 2014 on the campus of Eastern Illinois University. This year's conference theme is "A Time for Prevention and Intervention: Renewing Hope in Education." Rooted in the state of Illinois' Social and Emotional Learning Standards, this conference unites living and learning communities in an effort promote bullying prevention through the sharing of scholarly research, creative resources, and strategies which go beyond simple awareness. Dr. Alan Beane will be the keynote speaker. He is recognized nationally and internationally in the area of prevention and has been a speaker on CNN, Oprah Winfrey, Fox News and many more. He will share his story about the loss of his son to bullying.

This year, the conference strands are divided up according to (4) strands:

Strand 1: Social & Emotional Learning at All Levels
Strand 2: Support at All Levels
Strand 3: Student Engagement and Activities (SEA at all levels) and
Strand 4: Administration and The Law/Leading with an Empathetic Heart

In addition to the workshop sessions, we have added undergraduate and graduate research symposium (Poster Presentations)which will be held in the MLK-Student Union Ballroom. Conference Registration will open on September 15, 2014. Don’t forget to reserve you seat! You may click on the link below.
