Herbert O. Morice, EdD

INTRODUCTION


Dr. Morice started at EIU in 1967 as a faculty member in the psychology department. He frequently taught developmental and behavior management courses.

Dr. Morice's research interests included behavior therapy, gerontology, and educational testing and assessment. He spent a year in Montana investigating cultural bias in IQ tests on Crow and Blackfeet Indian reservations. Dr. Morice was instrumental in the development of the school psychology graduate program. He served as coordinator from 1970 to 1977. Dr. Morice was also involved with Psi Chi, University Professionals of Illinois, and served on and as president of the faculty senate.

Additionally, he consulted with the local Head Start program and helped found CCAR Industries, a local human services agency that supports people with disabilities. Dr. Morice is currently enjoying his retirement.
