Dr. Reinhardt holds the distinction of being the first woman to receive her Ph.D in Education from the University of Illinois in 1927. But, it is likely she would have downplayed this distinction as she was modest regarding her accomplishments. She was described by some as "possessing the simple dignity that characterizes a truly great soul."

Dr. Reinhardt taught as a member of the staff at Eastern Illinois State College of Education from 1927-1964, and was head of the Department of Education from 1934 until her retirement in 1964. Her book, "American Education: An Introduction," was used for many years as a text in the field.

Dr. Reinhardt was a founding member of Gamma Chapter and served as their national president in the early 1940's. Following her service she was honored with the Delta Kappa Gamma Achievement Award and an endowment in her name to its' educational foundation. She stayed active in the chapter throughout her career. Dr. Reinhardt was born in 1895 and passed away in 1973.
