INTRODUCTION

Ms. Eisenhour has taught at EIU since 1994. She is the costume designer and shop supervisor for the Department of Theatre Arts and designs and constructs for all of the productions each season. In addition to designing, Karen teaches a variety of classes including: An Introduction to Costume Construction, Costume Design, Make-up Design and Application, and Introduction to the Theatre. She has also taught a variety of production topics courses, such as Puppet Design & Construction, Advanced Makeup Techniques, Advanced Costume Construction Techniques,  Flat Patterning/Draping and Costume Crafts.  In addition, she has presented workshops on costuming for children's theatre and fantasy-based costumes. Her design and construction of various puppets have been used by Hospitals to help doctors relate procedures to children. Ms. Eisenhour is a member of various theatre associations and has received a Certificate of Merit for her design work from ACTF.
