Diego Aparicio is a journalist specialized in Hispanic audiences and multiplatform storytelling. He’s spent the last two decades holding multiple news roles in print, TV and digital-first newsrooms such as The Denver Post, Univision, and The Dallas Morning News. Aparicio led a news team that won an EPPY Award for best Spanish-language news website and placed finalists in several categories in the José Marti Awards.

Aparicio has been teaching journalism and advising student media since 2018. Under his guidance, students journalists won:

• First place for best video newscast (College Media Association Film and Audio Festival);
• First place for Best Use of Multimedia (SPJ Mark of Excellence Award);
• First place for Best Audio Feature Reporting and first place for General News Multimedia Storytelling (Texas Intercollegiate Press Association);
• First place for Best Continuous Coverage for a series of stories featuring the COVID-19 pandemic (Indiana Collegiate Press Association);
• First place for best breaking news, best news video and best newspaper (California College Media Association).
