Why Is Frank Lloyd Wright A
Global Hero?
Frank Lloyd Wright was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin on June 8, 1867.  When Mr. Wright was nine years old his mother went to a fair and brought him back some Froebel blocks.  These blocks we designed by Frederich Froebel, who was the founder of the first kindergarten.  Froebel blocks were geometric shapes.  Mr. Froebel designed these blocks to help children learn about geometry, color, and math.  These blocks helped sparked an interest in Mr. Wright to want to learn more about architecture.

When Mr. Wright was eleven he started working on his family's farm.  It was hard work but Mr. Wright loved being out in nature.  Because of this, nature was a major influence in his designs as an architect.

Frank Lloyd Wright is a global hero because he designed a lot of buildings in other countries.  For example, he designed an earth-quake proof building in Japan called the Imperial Hotel.  He is also a global hero because a lot of architects today are influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright.
