In today’s world, your health is everything! Thinking about health, talking about health, and being healthy is important to many people. However, there are a lot of individuals out there who may not be aware of what being healthy is. This is where you can make a difference. By volunteering at some of these agencies, you can contribute to educating others on their health decisions!

Lincolnland Hospice of Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital

The Lincolnland Hospice is a comprehensive program of care which supports terminally ill patients and their families. Volunteers in hospice find it personally gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful to assist those in need at a critical point in their lives. Respite volunteers are needed to stay with patients so that caregivers can get out of the house to run errands and attend appointments. Requirements and training will vary in length according to area of volunteering.

I Sing the Body Electric

I Sing the Body Electric combines the arts and prevention in a collaborative program connecting youth with health and education communities in the largest rural geographic educational region in the state of Illinois. 105 Professional Plaza, Mattoon, IL 61938.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of activities including art work guidance, office support, survey assistant, and tutoring. Internships available!

Coles County Health Department

The mission of the Coles County Health Department is to provide quality health services through prevention, education, health promotion and protection efforts in a manner that ensures the dignity of each individual served. All programs offered by the Coles County Health Department are free to those who qualify. American Cancer Society
