Dr. Lisa New Freeland
Dr. Lisa New Freeland (Ph.D., University of North
Texas) is Associate Professor of Sociology with substantive training
in medical sociology, demography and gender studies. Her teaching
load includes contemporary social theory, social
problems, and population. She is also a member of the Women’s
Studies Faculty and teaches occasional classes for the WST minor.
Dr. New Freeland’s research interests include oral health systems,
the social organization of gendered labor groups, and alienation of
gifted children in mainstream education.
