Dr. Bill Lovekamp (Ph.D., Southern Illinois University) is Assistant Professor of Sociology with substantive training in the sociology of disasters, collective behavior and social movements, race/ethnicity and gender studies. He currently teaches Introduction to Sociology, Research Methods, and Sociology of Disasters. His research interests include dynamics of disaster preparedness and recovery, how vulnerability to disasters is influenced by race/ethnicity, gender, and social class, perceptions of risk, and environmental racism. He is also faculty advisor to the Sociology Club.
