EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY: The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2010. A PhD in sociology is required by the time of appointment. The primary teaching responsibilities would involve areas of applied sociology. A strong quantitative background is required with a desire to teach statistics to undergraduates; other secondary areas are open to complement departmental offerings. All candidates must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching. The potential for research and publication is also expected. The Department has 12 full-time faculty and 300 majors. EIU is a regional comprehensive state university in a community of 20,000 in east central Illinois. University enrollment is 12,000.
