Careers and the BA in Sociology
Sociology provides a liberal arts education which develops
an ability to think critically and analytically - abilities highly desirable
to employers and widely marketable. Sociology graduates can offer their
statistical and research training, as well as their ability to evaluation
scientific and social information, as tangible and demonstrable skills.
Most of our graduates find careers in law-enforcement, case and social
service work, personnel relations, and in a host of other public and
private career settings. Sociology is also a relevant major for students
planning to pursue graduate degrees in law, social work, counseling,
criminal justice, business, public administration, labor relations,
sociology, and many of the other social sciences.
