Ruth E. Brandenberg Memorial Scholarship
Description: Established in 2007, this scholarship was created in honor of Ruth E. Brandenberg and is available to students studying Family and Consumer Sciences. Eligibility criteria includes the following: the recipient must be enrolled full-time at Eastern Illinois University and completing his/her freshman year and entering his/her sophomore year. The recipient shall be chosen based on academic excellence, be in good academic standing, not on probation and have a GPA of 3.0. The recipient shall also be of good moral character. The applicant shall submit two letters offering character references and/or two letters which demonstrate civic service or community involvement. The recipient may be eligible to apply for, and receive, the award again provided he/she continues to meet the stated criteria. The award shall be payable in the fall and spring semesters to Eastern Illinois University to be first applied against costs (tuition, fees, housing, etc.) associated with the recipient attending Eastern Illinois University. Any remaining amount will be disbursed to the recipient. This scholarship is subject to availability of funds.
