Richard L. Crouse Memorial Scholarship
Description: The recipient must be a full-time student, majoring in Spanish, accepted to Eastern Illinois University. (Note: If Portuguese is added to the curriculum, then Portuguese may be substituted for Spanish). The recipient must be a sophomore, junior, or senior. The recipient must have a GPA of 3.0 in Spanish (Portugeuese) The recipient must have a keen interest in Spanish as demonstrated by extra-curricular acitivities, classroom excellence, and enthusiasm. (An essay in Spanish (Portuguese) and/or letter of recommendation from a faculty member may be required if the selection committee deems it appropriate.) The award must be used to cover academic cost, which includes study abroad programs whose primary purpose is to improve proficiency in Spanish (Portuguese). This scholarship is announced in the Spring and paid in the Fall.
