SCHOOL
OF TECHNOLOGY
HONORS PROGRAM
(2008-2009)
What
is the Honors Program? Briefly put,
it is a process that encourages academically talented students to work, study,
and develop their full potential by providing areas of study outside of the
courses normally offered. It does not typically mean that additional courses
need to be taken to graduate. In the School of Technology, the honors courses
are substituted for some of the courses that make up the Industrial Technology
Degree program.
There are two types of honors programs - University and Departmental. This web page only focuses on the School of Technology Departmental Honors Program.
More
information about the Honors Program and the Honors College can be found at the Honors College
web page located at http://www.eiu.edu/~honprog.
DEPARTMENTAL

Two to three hours of Honors Thesis will be required to be written under the supervision of a Departmental faculty member. Departmental honor's students are eligible to apply for undergraduate research grants to support their studies. Information about how to apply for undergraduate research is located at this web site.
