Bachelor Degrees

When to Apply for Graduation

Students should apply for graduation by the first semester of their junior year.  Application must be made no later than the published deadline for the semester in which you plan to graduate.

How to Apply for Graduation

Students may apply for graduation through PAWS.

If you are earning two degrees, complete one application for each degree. Check the list of e-mail addresses and locations of certifying deans.

If a scholarship will pay the fee be sure to inform the Cashier. (They have a listing of applicable scholarships.)

Verify your date of graduation with your certifying dean prior to the deadline date for the term you expect to graduate.

The following fees apply:

One Bachelors Degree $25.00
Two Simultaneous Degrees $25.00
Two Consecutive Degrees $50.00

Graduation fees are non-refundable.

Degree Requirements Checklist

A degree requirements review, indicating your progress toward completion of the degree requirements, will be mailed to you by your Certifying Dean.

To obtain an updated degree checklist, contact your certifying dean's office.  Reapplying will not generate another checklist.

Cap & Gown

Commencement information, including cap and gown, will be mailed to your permanent address.

Diploma Covers

Diploma covers are handed out at the commencement ceremonies. The actual diplomas will be mailed to the address listed on your application card at a later date. (This may be up to three months after you graduate.)

Note: Participation in the commencement ceremony does not mean you have completed degree requirements and graduated.  You will not be officially graduated until your certifying dean's office has sent notification of completion of all degree requirements to Records Office and the degree has been posted to your record.

Reapplication for Graduation

You will need to reapply for graduation for such significant changes as:

  • Change of Name -- The name will be changed on your diploma only if requested by the application deadline date.
  • Graduation Date -- This includes not graduating the semester or term for which you originally applied.
  • Degree You are Seeking
  • Major You are Seeking
  • Change in Address
