Purpose
The purpose of the Peer Advising Program is to support the academic advising conducted by the professional staff in the Academic Advising Center (Ninth Street Hall) and the faculty advisors in the Psychology Department.
Training
Peer Advisors are upper-division psychology majors who are trained and knowledgeable in the following areas:
- EIU’s academic policies
- General education requirements
- Course/Credit requirements for the psychology major
- Internship/Independent Study opportunities in psychology
- Career options with a bachelor’s degree in psychology
- Application process for graduate school
- Graduate program options in psychology and related fields
Peer Advising Support
During the Fall semester of 2009, Peer Advisors will be available in Room 3113 of the Physical Science Building 5 days a week, at the times listed below. Please feel free to stop by with any questions you might have, or just to say hello.
- Monday – Thursday, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Friday: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
