Traditional "2+2" Pre-Nursing Program at EIU


Students may choose to attend EIU for two years and then transfer to any of a number of accredited programs that offer a baccalaureate degree in Nursing (B.S.N.) and the knowledge and preparation to pass the certification exam required to become a registered nurse (R.N.). Since your B.S.N. will be awarded by another institution, you must meet their requirements. Each program has its own requirements, but deciding what courses to take is not too difficult because most nursing programs require similar courses.

 

Note: If you are planning to take courses at a local community college, contact the Evaluator's Office (Room 1150, Old Main, 217-581-5942) regarding course transfer.
