After thirty-eight years of service to Eastern Illinois University, including almost eleven years as Secretary of the Political Science Department, Vicky O’Day retired at the end of February, 2008.  To thank Vicky for her years of dedicated service to EIU and the PLS Department, a university-wide reception was held on Thursday, February 28 in the 1895 Room of MLKUniversity Union, and this reception brought out many coworkers, associates and friends from throughout the university.  Then on Monday evening, March 3, PLS faculty, student workers, graduate students and friends gathered to wish Vicky the best in the next stage of her life, and express their appreciation to her with a special plaque and a financial contribution on her behalf to Vicky’s favorite travel agency.  Watch out Branson!  Here comes Vicky O!
