Dr. Mueller (Ph.D. Rochester) teaches courses on the presidency, interest groups, environmental politics, Congress, American government, and qualitative research methods. Her research interests include the connections between gender, campaigns and representation, the impact of public opinion and interest groups on public policy, and political science pedagogy. Her publications include articles in PS: Political Science and Politics and the Thomas Jefferson
Law Review, chapters in Managing Environmental Policy and Engaging the Public: How the Government and Media Can Reinvigorate American Democracy and several encyclopedia articles and essays, often co-authored with graduate students. She serves as the department’s Honors Coordinator.
