Scholarship Forms for Undergraduate Political Science Students
This section represents our first cut at posting applications for key scholarships available to Political Science students, specifically our undergraduate majors and minors. As such, it contains one of the most tradition-bound scholarships for undergraduate PLS students--the James E. and Joseph T. Connelly Scholarship--along with more recent additions such as the Political Science Honors Scholarship (which targets high school seniors seeking admission into the EIU University Honors Program). We will be adding to this site as we move along, including as the department and its faculty have opportunities to add to its growing repertoire of scholarships and awards. Of course, we can only do this with the generous support of our alumni and friends, to whom we are very appreciative.

It also should be noted that the department has scholarships/awards that are initiated by nominations made by Political Science professors, and these include the Outstanding First-Year Political Science Student Scholarship, the Outstanding Political Science Senior Award and the Baumgartner Scholarship Award. Questions about this category of scholarships should be directed to the Chair of the Scholarships and Awards Committee, Dr. Andrew McNitt.
We also have other forms of student recognition, such as the Outstanding Contribution to Model Illinois Government Award, the Outstanding Contribution to Moot Court Award, and (in conjunction with the EIU International Students Office) the Outstanding International Student Award. We also award the Watson Family Scholarship, which rotates among a group of departments every three to four years.
