BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:     Greenhouse and Fine Arts, building “C” (South of corridor 301 – all levels). Inside the Fine Arts building, the section that is considered building “C” will be blocked off. 

 

DATE AND TIME:  Wednesday, June 5, 2013   7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (8 hours)

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Crane lift to remove cooling tower at Fine Arts

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Crane work will be involved to lift heavy mechanical equipment off the roof of Fine Arts. This building and the Greenhouse need to be vacant for safety reasons, no students, administration, faculty or FPM employees will be allowed in the buildings while the crane work is being done.

Cold Water Outage at Klehm Hall:

DATE AND TIME:     Tuesday, June 4, 2013 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (8 ½ hours) 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Installing a new water line in basement 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: No cold water for use in kitchen and toilets will be out of order in restroom.

Entrance Closure at 9th Street:

DATE AND TIME:  Starting Monday, May 20, 2013 for one week, possibly 2 weeks 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Repairing retaining wall by East side, basement entrance of 9th Street

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: This entrance to the basement will be closed off during the repair.

Entrance Closure at Buzzard:

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:     Buzzard Building – main entrance on the West side of building                                                                                                                        

DATE AND TIME:  For the week of Monday, May 20, 2013 – Friday, May 24, 2013 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. each day (depending on weather conditions, it may be a few days longer) 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Cleaning the stone around the West entrance to the building

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: This entrance will be closed unless there would be an emergency and it could be opened as an exit. There will be some equipment noise with this cleaning process. If noise becomes an issue or you have other concerns, please contact Tony Craven at 581-6602 or 581-2179.

Steps Closed Off by Phipps Lecture Hall:

DATE AND TIME:  Beginning Monday, January 28, 2013 – until weather conditions stabilize and repairs can be made.

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  The concrete steps immediately North of the exterior of Phipps Lecture Hall (steps directly across from Brainard House) have been closed off due to safety issues. The North entrance door outside Phipps Lecture Hall has a signed posted “emergency exit only” because when you go out this particular entrance, it leads directly to these damaged steps. Grounds has placed barricades around these steps.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Both the men’s and women’s restrooms in the Center section of the building will be closed for renovations.
