Professor Beakley is coeditor of Philosophy of Mind: Classical Problems / Contemporary Issues (MIT Press: 1992; second edition 2006), and translated Jean-François Lyotard's Phenomenology (SUNY Press: 1991). His current work focuses on causation and explanation in the philosophy of mind and linguistics, and the history of modal logic.
