EIU New Student and Family Programs

Ways to Get Involved

During Orientation, Advisement, and Registration

Our Orientation, Advisement, and Registration program gives incoming students the opportunity to see what EIU has to offer them!

Program folders: Incoming students will receive an informational folder upon check-in at orientation. The materials in this folder come from campus facilities that are geared toward helping students have a successful orientation.

Panther Fair: Members of the EIU community will set up informational tables for students and their guests during orientation. Here, students and their guests will have a chance to see what activities and resources are available through miscellaneous departments.

During Prowl

Our Prowl program is an excellent way to interact with new students!

Transfer Connections: Faculty members from different areas of campus will give a 30 minute presentation on the resources available to transfer students through their department.

Welcome Picnic: Faculty members will have a chance to mingle and have lunch with students who will be entering their colleges.

If you are a member of the Eastern Illinois University family and are looking to assist incoming students by increasing their knowledge about your department or organization, please contact our office at nsfp@eiu.edu or 217-581-6435.  New Student & Family Programs would be happy to work with you in many different capacities to spread knowledge to new students.
