What is Prowl?

We know college is exciting, but also challenging. So, we’ve developed a program focused on helping you make a smooth transition to your new life as an EIU panther.

Prowl offers educational and social opportunities for you to learn about community expectations and how you connect to Eastern – Opportunities that will provide you with a solid foundation for both personal and academic success.

Yes, you have to participate!

But with more than 150 activities to choose from, we’re pretty sure there’s something interesting out there for you.  To learn about what you will be required to participate in select one of the following links:

Prowl 2012 begins on Friday, August 17 and you will be required to participate in events throughout the weekend prior to the first day of classes.  Prowl events will continue through the first six weeks of the semester.

Civic & Citizenship programming will help you become a responsible citizen by providing standards and expectation for integration into the Eastern, Charleston and greater Communities.

Connect to Academics

Academic Programming will provide myriad opportunities for you to become familiar with academic expectations. Outside of class, activities with faculty will introduce you to the intellectual life of the University.

Connect to Wellness

Wellness programming will provide information on the importance of staying healthy. Learn how to maintain your health – both physical and mental- and how it impacts academic performance.

  • AlcoholEdu (Freshman And Transfers must complete by Monday, August 20)

Connect To Eastern

Traditions and Culture Programming, which will introduce you to EIU traditions, history and campus culture, will foster and appreciation for the role of diversity in Eastern and Global Community.

  • New student mixer : Thursday, August 16
