7:45 am - 8:30 am -Program Check-in: MLK, Jr. University Union (Continental breakfast is provided)

8:30 am - 9:30 am - Opening and Academic Orientation

9:30 am - Student and Family Separate for Student Programs and Family Programs 

9:45 am-10:45 am - When the Training Wheels Come Off

Sending your student off to college is a milestone not only for your college student, but also yourself. We will discuss transition issues faced by nearly every family as students head off for college.

10 minute break

11:00 am - 11:40 pm - Select a Session 1

Select from the following sessions at this time:

  • University Housing and Dining: Learn how EIU's Housing and Dining Services will make a "home away from home" for your student. 

  • Campus Tour: This is a walking tour of our main campus (a residence hall room will not be shown).


11:45 am- 12:50 pm - Lunch/Panther Fair

The Panther Fair will provide you with the opportunity to interact with various offices and organizations at EIU.  The Panther fair will run from 11:45am to 12:30pm.

 

1:00 pm- 1:25 pm - Student Outcomes

As an institution we believe in aiding our students in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve personal success in life.  We will discuss how the University will challenge and support your student and how you can help.

1:30 pm - 1:55 pm - Select a Session 2

  • Student Panel (Student Accounts during Round 2) - Effingham Room: our current students are ready to answer your questions.

  • First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust - Greenup Room: learn about our relationship with First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust and how students can add options to their student ID card.

  • Telecommunications and Panther Card Services - Casey Room: -how the student ID card can gain access to a wide variety of services.

  • Student Success Center - This session will introduce you to the academic support services available to students.

10 minute break

2:05pm - 2:30 pm - Select a Session 3

Select from one of the following sessions:

  • Student Accounts - Effingham Room: Learn about the workings of Student Accounts.

  • First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust - Greenup Room: learn about our relationship with First Mid-Illinois Bank and Trust and how students can add options to their student ID card.

  • Telecommunications and Panther Card Services - Casey Room: -how the student ID card can gain access to a wide variety of services.

  • Financial Aid - Charleston/Mattoon Room: Learn more about the financial aid process and ask questions.

2:40 pm - 3:05 pm - Select a Session 4

Select from one of the following sessions:

  • Career Services - Greenup Room: Learn more about the different options Career Services offers.

  • Student Accounts - Effingham Room: Learn about the workings of Student Accounts.

  • Health Services - Charleston/Mattoon Room: Find out more about the different ways Health Services keeps your student well!

3:10 pm - 3:45 pm - What Happens After Debut?

Join the Debut staff to learn about what to expect over the summer and when students will return to campus. We will test how much you know about what college students think about, do and want. This is the last chance to ask and receive last minute tips from the Debut staff.

3:45 pm - 4:30 pm - Tour a Residence Hall

Andrews Hall staff will provide a tour that will include a room.
