Thank you for your interest in the Department of Music at Eastern Illinois University! There are many exciting developments in the Music Department, including the prestigious Peck Music Competition and our three-summer Master’s program in Music Education that began in the Summer of 2005. In March of 2005, construction began on the new Doudna Fine Arts Center, a 234, 000 square-foot, world-class, state-of-the-art performance and teaching complex for the Departments of Music, Art, and Theater. It will serve as an architectural focal point and centerpiece for the Eastern campus and will significantly enhance the cultural life of the state of Illinois.
