Todd M. French is the tuba instructor at Eastern Illinois University
since the spring of 2008. He is currently completing a DM degree in
brass pedagogy and literature from Indiana University-Jacobs School of
Music, where he is an Associate Instructor of brass techniques. Mr.
French holds a Masters of Music degree from Indiana University and a
Bachelors of Music degree from the University of Nebraska.
Mr. French’s performance career includes serving as principal tuba and
soloist with the U.S. Seventh Fleet Navy Band (Japan) and Navy Band San
Diego. He has also performed with the Indianapolis Symphony, the Omaha
Symphony, the Lincoln Symphony, and the Bloomington Camerata Orchestra
(IN). His teachers include Daniel Perantoni, Anthony Kniffen, Craig
Fuller, and Robert Jacobsen. He currently lives in Bloomington, IN and
has been an active performer in the Indianapolis area for several years.
