Wind Symphony

Wind Symphony Performance

Comprised of approximately 50 of our finest undergraduate and graduate brass, woodwind, and percussion students, the EIU Wind Symphony is the premiere concert band at Eastern Illinois University. This ensemble performs a wide variety of repertoire including the major masterworks of the band canon, groundbreaking new works by up-and-coming composers, and chamber music for smaller ensembles. The Wind Symphony is actively involved in commissioning new works for wind band as well as exploring new approaches to programming and performing. The EIU Symphony rehearses 4 hours per week and performs three to four concerts per semester.
