As Instructor of Percussion at Eastern Illinois University, Mr. Mayhue writes for, arranges for, and is director of, the EIU World Percussion Ensemble, EIU Concert Percussion Ensemble, and the Mid-West Funk Factory Drumline. His compositions and arrangements for percussion ensemble and marimba orchestra have been performed by numerous university programs across the country. He received his B.A. in Music Performance from Millikin University, his M.A. in Music Performance from Eastern Illinois University, and is currently pursuing his DMA at the University of Illinois. He has performed on several professional recordings and is currently the studio percussionist at "Third Stone Productions" in Decatur, IL. He has been the Principal Percussionist for the Danville Symphony Orchestra since 1998 and substitutes for several other regional orchestras. Mr. Mayhue is very active as an instructor of several drum-lines and is continuously sought after as a percussion clinician, adjudicator, and commercial performer throughout the Mid-West. Mr. Mayhue has performed with artist such as Mitzy Gainer, Aretha Franklin, Ignacio Beroua, Five By Design, Anthony Kerns, Riders in the Sky, Rich Ridenour, and Nebojsa Zivkovic. Mr. Mayhue is an active member of the Percussive Arts Society and is currently endorsed by Innovative Percussion.
