Eastern Music Camp: Choral Festival

Choral Festival is open to students entering the 6th through 12th grades. A typical daily schedule will include warm-ups, sectionals, workshops and full choir rehearsals and private lessons (lessons are at an additional cost). Participants will also have an opportunity to perform for family and friends at a final concert on Saturday, the last day of camp.

Campers may choose from several workshops and clinics. Some topics may include the following:

- Music Theory
- Music History (classical, jazz, rock)
- Voice Class
- IMEA All-State required songs
- Performance skills (microphone use, jazz singing, stage presence)

Jeannie Craddock has been the EMC Choral Festival coordinator for the past six years but has been involved with EMC for the past several years including 1987 where she held the position as Vocal Director of the EMC Show Choir Camp. She has been a guest director for the IMEA Vocal District Festivals for the past four years and currently holds the position as director of choral music for the Tuscola school district.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Education from Western Illinois University and holds a Master of Arts in Choral Conducting from Eastern Illinois University.
