The conference provides students with information regarding the teaching profession, continuing their education, panel discussions, interactive group sessions, tours of the EIU campus, motivational speaker, and a host of other activities and information.
    • MTIEP Fall Education Conference: This is a one day conference held in the fall, open to all education majors to learn from professionals about the growing trends in education and address issues educators face in the classroom.  The conference provides solutions to issues and resolutions to barriers educators may encounter.
  • Annual Community College Overnighter
    • MTEA community college associates come to EIU to engage in presentations for continuing their education at a four year university, and are provided with information needed to successfully pursue their career choices. We start off the evening with dinner, presentations given by the Office of Admissions, the Financial Aid Office, and other campus offices that guide in the pursuit of a career in education. We later wind down the evening with bowling, and other social activities at Eastern Illinois University.
  • Annual Summer Camp
    • One week summer session on EIU's campus for select middle and high school students in the state of Illinois. Students take courses in areas such as English composition, biological science, computer science, and mathematics. Students attend leadership training workshops, listen to a motivational speaker, and enjoy a host of social activities with other students interested in the teaching profession, while familiarizing them with college life.
