How to become a Member?

We would like to invite you to join (MTEA) at Eastern Illinois University. MTEA is an association that acts as a support system to minority student teachers in their pursuit of the undergraduate teaching degree. We help students prepare for the Teacher Certification and Basic Skills Test. We plan and implement workshops and attend conferences which promote personal and professional development and growth. In addition, MTEA host an annual summer camp, which serves as an opportunity for members to have a “hands on” experience with students. MTEA also sponsor social events, activities, and community involvement.

The Minority Teacher Education Association serves as a valuable educational resource. The organization provides a strong collaborative network with cooperating school districts throughout the state.

Members are required to attend weekly meetings, and participate in events sponsored by MTEA.
