MTEA
The MTEA at EIU will:
- Serve as a liaison between cooperating institutions
- Identify and train mentors/tutors from MTEAs
- Develop and supervise mentor/mentee and tutorial relationships in the cooperating institutions
- Conduct seminars for students
- Establish consultants and speakers for MTEA chapters
- Assist in the placement of MTEA members in the Minority Internship Program
- Identify conferences and workshops for MTEA members to attend to enhance their growth and development
- Provide information on transfer articulation, academic advising, and financial aid resources to education majors
- Assist students with employment opportunities, teacher certification, test preparation, reading comprehension tests
- Participate in distance learning capabilities to deliver relevant programs
