Thank you for your interest in supporting the Panther Marching Band. The following is information about the many different gift types available at Eastern Illinois University. For more information regarding making a gift to the band program, please contact email@example.com.
Gifts of Cash and Securities
Outright gifts of cash can be directed for immediate benefit to the Band program and are tax deductible. Securities, likewise, hold possible tax deductions. Wire transfers are made to the Eastern Illinois University Foundation and negotiated at the time of receipt. Proceeds are then deposited to the designated programs or educational purpose that the donor has identified. Cash donation can be made via online (click here), by credit card (call the Foundation office at ___________) or by check made payable to the Eastern Illinois University Foundation, Inc. and mailed to ___________.
Endowment funds provide a perpetual stream of income to support the Band program priorities and serve to help fulfill the program’s mission. Donors may establish a named endowment for scholarship for students, fellowship for graduate support or program support. A minimum gift of $20,000 can establish an endowed fund.
Life Income Plans
Determine your potential benefits through the creation of a charitable remainder trust or a charitable gift annuity. Life income plans allow you to make a substantial gift to the Band Program and at the same time retain a benefit from the assets you give. Furthermore, tax benefits, increased gifting potential and stream of income during your lifetime are features of these gifting opportunities. Charitable lead trusts and donor advised funds are also potentially beneficial ways to create income for the Band Program and preserve assets for you and your heirs. Your financial advisor will know which of these vehicles may be appropriate for you.
Gifts of real estate are welcomed. The Eastern Illinois University Foundation has experienced real estate and other professional staff to assist you if you are considering gifts of real estate. Our procedures (both trust & non trust) for accepting real estate gifts are simple, and our comprehensive real estate policy provides assurance that gifts will be handled professionally to achieve the charitable goals envisioned by the donor. Although most gifts are given outright, many also fund charitable remainder trusts (CRT) that pay income to the donor or other beneficiaries designated by the donor.
Life Insurance Policies
Make the Panther Marching Band a beneficiary of an insurance policy. If there is no longer a need to provide for dependents, this form of planned gift offers a simple way to support the Band Program. Discussion with the development office and the Eastern Illinois University Foundation Office of Planned Giving can provide you with information for your financial advisors in determining the benefits of such a gift.
Document your gift intentions to the Band Program in your will through your estate planning professionals. Your bequest expresses your lasting commitment to the Band Program and contributes to growth and ongoing success of the program. A bequest can have potential benefits to meet your estate-planning goals. The development office would be pleased to discuss your interests. Documenting your bequest intent with the Eastern Illinois University Foundation to benefit the Band program can qualify you for the University’s Bequest Society with related benefits during your lifetime.
