Med-grad Listserv

Research Guide

Med-Grad Listserv and Euro-Med-Grad Listserv

The Academy's Graduate Student Committee maintains two listserves, with the help and support of the University of Pennsylvania. The first, Med-Grad, is a listserve for any graduate student member interested in the Middle Ages. The second, Euro-Med-Grad, is designed to bring together graduate medievalists working in the U.K. and continental Europe. While this list will predominantly include student members whose university affiliations are outside North America, we also welcome those whose research interests, national backgrounds, and conference travel plans are situated in a European context.

To join either list, please send a message to listproc@ccat.sas.upenn.edu with the command "subscribe med-grad (add your name without parentheses)" for the med-grad listserve or "subscribe euro-med-grad (add your name without parentheses)" for the euro-med-grad listserve. Once subscribed, you can post messages to the lists at the following addresses: med-grad@ccat.sas.upenn.edu and euro-med-grad@ccat.sas.upenn.edu To make changes to your subscription, you will need to send plain-text commands to listproc@ccat.sas.upenn.edu. You will find a complete list of commands and instructions at http://listproc.sourceforge.net/manuals.html.

MAA Juniorfac Listserve

MAA_juniorfac is a listserv aimed at nontenured faculty interested in the Middle Ages.  Anyone is welcome to join (faculty on and off the tenure clock, grad students on and off the job market, postdocs, tenured faculty from whose wisdom we might benefit); we expect discussion to focus mainly around issues such as balancing "real life" with work, course preparation, balancing teaching and research, preparation for tenure review, publishing your first article or book, and navigating a new academic environment.   Subscribe at http://lists.ncf.edu/mailman/listinfo/maa_juniorfac ; once the list reaches a reasonable size, members will be encouraged to introduce themselves briefly. Feel free to email the moderator, Carrie Benes (History, New College of Florida) at benes@ncf.edu with any questions or comments.
